Three things to know about the 2019 Nissan Altima

The new 2019 Nissan Altima is about to arrive at dealerships with new styling, new technology, a revamped interior and more efficient engines. In other words, the 2019 Nissan Altima has been completely redesigned from the ground up.

One look at the features of this new Altima reveals that we are a far cry from the previous generation. Let's take a closer look with three things to know about the new 2019 Nissan Altima.

It will offer all-wheel drive as standard

The most interesting feature of the all-new Nissan Altima is definitely the addition of all-wheel drive, which will be standard. This makes the 2019 Nissan Altima one of the only midsize sedans to offer the added stability of four-wheel drive.

With an all-wheel drive vehicle, winter becomes a breeze and you never have to worry about snowy roads or icy slopes.

Two renewed engines for the new 2019 Altima

The new 2019 Nissan Altima gets a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 80% of its parts redesigned. Developing 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque.

"To develop the new 2.5-liter engine, we started by redesigning basic features one by one, such as the combustion chamber design. The end result is significantly better high efficiency and low fuel consumption than the previous engine - in addition to improved NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) and greater flexibility in the front-end design," said José Muñoz, director of performance at Nissan Motor Co.

ProPilot is also available

The 2019 Nissan Altima becomes the third car in the Nissan lineup to receive the ProPilot package. ProPilot is a group of highly advanced driver assistance technologies that can not only prevent accidents, but also ensure your Altima's handling to improve comfort and reduce on-board fatigue.

For example, ProPilot can maintain the lane for you by adjusting the steering while automatically braking when traffic or another vehicle cuts you off. This is in addition to adaptive cruise control and automatic braking, among others.
