Nissan unveils the new 2018 Nissan Kicks in Los Angeles

Last November was the Los Angeles International Auto Show, one of the most important shows of the year where the public finds the majority of new vehicles that will go on sale in the coming year. This year, one of those models, the all-new 2018 Nissan Kicks, has attracted a lot of attention and praise from the trade press.

2018 Nissan Kicks: a new entry-level SUV from Nissan

The new 2018 Nissan Kicks will join an already full lineup of Nissan sport utility vehicles. Its price is not yet known, but it is expected to be more affordable than the Nissan Qashqai, currently the most affordable SUV in the range.

The new Kicks will be a spacious and versatile SUV aimed at the needs of a young urban family. It will also be very agile and particularly fuel efficient according to Nissan. It will offer the latest safety technologies in addition to being very comfortable in an urban environment.

It will offer an automatic braking system with collision detection, a rearview camera and seven airbags. It will also be able to offer an optional blind spot monitoring system and one that keeps an eye on rear cross traffic. Three versions of the 2018 Nissan Kicks will be available when the vehicle debuts in Canada in June 2018. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity features will also be included.

Under the hood, the 2018 Nissan Kicks will receive a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 125 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be paired with an XTronic CVT continuously variable automatic transmission that will send power to the front wheels. There is no doubt that the new 2018 Nissan Kicks will be able to stand out in terms of efficiency. Pricing will be known a little later this year.

"The Kicks, Nissan's new entry-level sport utility vehicle, is ready to go on an adventure alongside the Qashqai, Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder and Armada. It will appeal to both couples and singles looking for expressive styling, personal technology, smart features and advanced safety features," said Steve Rhind, Director of Marketing at Nissan Canada Inc.
