Nissan proves its toughness with the new Warrior range

Nissan shows off its Titan Warrior

January is the month of car shows. In addition to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (not necessarily an auto show but still more and more focused on cars), there is of course the Detroit International Auto Show and the Montreal International Auto Show.

This year, Nissan proved that it was able to design particularly powerful and robust vehicles as two new models were launched.

The first, at the Detroit International Auto Show, is the Nissan Titan Warrior. A concept vehicle for the moment, the Titan Warrior is based on the recently unveiled Nissan Titan XD. It shares with the XD version its robust 5.0-liter Cummins V8 diesel engine developing 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. In the production version, this engine can tow up to 12,300 pounds, which is quite an impressive capacity for a mid-size truck.

In the Warrior version, the Titan XD is able to tackle just about any terrain. A higher ground clearance and a set of protective and visual styling elements give the package a powerful, all-around look. In the end, it's hard to find a truck that looks this muscular.

Nissan Rogue Warrior: an impressive concept

A few days after presenting the Nissan Titan Warrior, Nissan unveiled the Rogue Warrior at the Montreal International Auto Show. While the Titan Warrior may one day see production, the Rogue Warrior is expected to remain in concept form. But what a concept!

The wheels have been replaced by sturdy tracks that allow the Rogue to go just about anywhere it wants. In addition to being able to climb hills of up to 45 degrees, the Rogue Warrior can also reach 100 km/h on a snowy surface!

"In the automotive industry, it's standard to develop a prototype and present it to the world in photos or display it at an auto show, but with the Rogue Warrior - we had to do more," said Steve Rhind, Director of Marketing, Nissan Canada. "When you combine Rogue's all-wheel drive and Nissan's advanced Xtronic transmission with tracks, the result is spectacular - a Rogue that can handle harsh winter conditions off-road. This video showcases a playful side of our brand personality and does justice to the Rogue Warrior's extreme capabilities - an idea conceived and built entirely in Canada."
