There are plenty of midsize SUVs on the market, and each one stands out in its own way by offering a little more style, a little more luxury, a little more technology, or a little more power. In the case of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, it's the ride comfort and interior space that primarily sets it apart from the competition, in addition to outpacing many rivals in efficiency, capability, and refinement.
The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder was refreshed last year after being completely redesigned three years ago. Changes include a new grille, an upgraded engine, a new infotainment system and new safety features.
Six versions for the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder
In addition to all of its features, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder offers several trims to meet the different needs of mid-size SUV buyers. The entry-level model is the Pathfinder S V6 ($32,498), which offers 18-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, and EZ Flex seats for added versatility. This model is the only one in the 2017 Pathfinder lineup to be offered in front-wheel drive configuration.
It is also possible to equip its S V6 with all-wheel drive starting at $35,478. All other models, meanwhile, offer four-wheel drive as standard. Starting at $38,178, the Nissan Pathfinder SV V6 is equipped with heated seats, a heated steering wheel and the Nissan Intelligent Key. Next up is the Pathfinder SL V6, which adds a power liftgate, remote start and leather seats.
The top-of-the-line Platinum V6 trim comes with 20-inch wheels, a rear DVD entertainment system, ventilated seats and even an automatic braking system. The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder also offers a version called Midnight Edition that adds black 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a black spoiler and LED headlights, all for $48,478, the same price as the Platinum V6 model.
A V6 engine for the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder
All versions of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder are powered by the same engine, a 3.5-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. This is a gain of 24 horsepower compared to the previous generation. This engine allows the 2017 Pathfinder to tow up to 6,000 pounds, or 2,722 kilos.
Available as standard in a seven-passenger configuration, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder offers 453 liters of cargo space with all seats in place, and 1,201 liters when the third row is lowered.
